Another quiet week in the world of WordPress security.
#1 – WP 6.5.2 Released
A minor update for WP was released that also addressed a XSS flaw.
How will I know I’m okay?
Minor updates for WP are usually installed automatically, but you can always double-check
What’s the risk?
Not a major risk, but best to ensure you’ve updated your WP to the latest patch release.
#2 – Shield Security 19.1 Update Not Showing
We’ve seen a couple of reports for some members where the latest version of Shield (19.1) isn’t being shown for update on some sites.
What can I do?
We’re still trying to ascertain if it’s related to other plugins, but if you check your sites, could you see whether the latest release (19.1) is available to install. If you’ve already got 19.1.6, then you’re all up-to-date.
How to solve it?
One thing to try is deactivate the Shield plugin and see if the update the appears. If this works for you, we’d love to hear from you and what version of Shield you were running.

Just to reiterate, we’re not sure of where the problem lies here, but we appreciate you taking a moment to check your sites.
#3 – Shield Blog Article: Blocking Elementor SPAM
We’ve got an article on our site about blocking Elementor SPAM which you might want to check out.
What’s The Issue?
Contact Form SPAM completely sucks – why not block it altogether?
Editor Comment
Elementor has some options, such as CAPTCHAs, to block SPAM, but you can also use ShieldPRO to block bot spam, too.
Thanks for reading, and have a wonderful week!
